The earthquake bereaved will remember and recover in their own ways

Time has moved on but the loss feels just as raw, says Carazo, who has to fight back tears when he talks about the day Cristiano died.

"Five years is nothing. Every year,  it not get easier. I feel every day I look in the mirror and I see my son. If he died in an accident, then OK. But not like this.

"People say I made a mistake to come to this country but I say I did not. This is still a beautiful country, a beautiful city. I can't believe all the help we got after the earthquake."
